Business Systems Analyst – Navision – Reading, PA USA

A local manufacturer of food products, based in the Reading PA area, is looking for an experienced Business Systems Analyst to join their small IT team. This person will interface with end-users and provide support, reporting and data integrity for the company’s ERP software. Duties of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Management, troubleshooting and general support of the Microsoft Navision ERP system which includes EDI inbound and outbound documents.
  • Report creation and maintenance
  • Support of EDI processes
  • Creation of detailed documentation and procedures as related to the job position
  • Effective at managing competing priorities and ability to work independently
    • Act as a subject matter expert for applications and work with various business teams to enhance and improve business processes with automation.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed system requirements (SRS)
    • Analyzes and documents functional requirements, business processes, determine requirements, and sets priorities for projects.
    • Represent technical solutions by collaborating with all IT Teams (e.g. Infrastructure, Development, Help Desk) to ensure the solutions meets design expectations.
    • Work with Developers to perform/coordinate module and unit testing
    • Creation of detailed documentation and procedures as related to the job position
    • Work effectively with peers and customers across multiple disciplines, location and levels

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years’ experience preferably in a manufacturing environment. In addition, the qualified applicant will have the following:

  • ERP Experience – Microsoft Navision preferred
  • Expert with Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Experience with business process design and implementation
  • Soft skills, general troubleshooting & problem resolution – be a key member of a small IT team
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Effective at managing competing priorities and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work with people of varying computer literacy/skillsets
  • Analytical and thoughtful mindset with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Adaptable to new systems and software, and willingness to learn and embrace new technologies
  • Expert with Microsoft Excel and Access
  • Understanding of databases, SQL and SQL jobs is a plus
  • Sharepoint and Power BI knowledge and experience is a plus
  • Food processing or manufacturing experience is not required but is a plus
  • BS or higher in Information Technology/Computer Sciences, or equivalent work experience
