Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Administrator – Wayne, PA


A global manufacturer of specialty chemical products located in Wayne, PA about 10 miles west of Philadelphia, is looking for a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Administrator. This is a new position and so is an opportunity to make a contribution immediately to a critical function within the company. Summary of Position
The primary purpose of this position is to develop and maintain the regional Labware Laboratory Information Management System or LIMS. The position creates and maintains procedures, configures and customizations the system and provides support and training to staff members. It is accountable for testing and documenting system changes as required by ISO standards. Geographically dispersed sites are supported and occasional travel is required.

Principal Accountabilities
• Design, code, test, document, implement, support, and train users on Labware LIMS to meet complex business requirements
• Lead cross department projects to enhance and further the functionality within Labware LIMS
• Evaluate product enhancements and capabilities and implementing upgrades as required
• Assist in prioritizing program objectives
• Adhere to department design, programming and data control standards
• Be on call for after-hours support
• Analyze requirements requested by user departments and develop program specifications to meet objectives
• Comply with company Hazardous Waste procedures and local, state and federal regulatory requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Educational Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, IT, Chemistry, Engineering or Business
• 3-5 years’ experience in programming and systems analysis or experience in Quality Lab experience; work with LabWare is preferred
• Ability to think analytically, identify root issues within a software system and resolve issues independently
• Understand the Business Unit’s applications Development Standards and Procedures
• Working knowledge of Quality Lab and QA procedures and policies
• Working knowledge of the major applications at the business unit
• Familiar with Quality Lab equipment and devices
• Proficient with Windows computers, Office and data base tools

Salary:  $60-75K
