The Challenge:

A large plastics manufacturer needed an IT Specialist to implement their ERP software package at a new plant located in a fairly remote area of Colorado. In addition to location, there were several challenges to finding qualified candidates for this search. The ERP software was specific to the plastics industry and not in heavy use in the U.S. The person in this position also had to be extremely knowledgeable with manufacturing applications in addition to the software in order to get the plant up and running as quickly as possible.

Our Solution:

Phoenix Partners was able to successfully complete this search by soliciting the help of our partners in the NPAworldwide Recruitment Network who are very experienced in the plastics industry. Although not specialists in IT, several of our NPA affiliates were familiar with our client’s ERP software and helped us recruit excellent candidates who were technically qualified to implement the package. Our client hired an individual who was not only a technical fit for the position but also had family in Colorado which was motivation for relocation. And because of his experience with the client’s ERP software, the new hire was able to hit the ground running” and quickly make the new plant productive.

The Challenge:

One of our clients, a major property and casualty insurance company, was introducing a new Web-based service to its customers to help them maintain policy information. A new position had been created for a Web Architect to design and implement the new service. The challenge was their need for someone who had excellent Web development skills but also knowledge of insurance applications. Hiring for the project was falling behind because of the scarcity of candidates with this combination of skills and experience.

Our Solution:

Phoenix Partners took on the search at the request of the Vice President of IT because of work that we had done in the past for this client and our reputation for completing difficult assignments. By using our extensive research and sourcing capabilities, we were able to quickly identify potential candidates for the position. Our knowledge of the company and the position requirements helped us recruit several qualified candidates, one of which was hired by our client. Completion of this search in a timely manner allowed the project to get back on schedule and for the new service to be introduced on time.
